About me

I have been a practising psychotherapist since 2006, working within the NHS and in private practice. In that time I have helped many clients to face and overcome a wide range of emotional issues. These include:

  • loss and bereavement
  • depression
  • alcohol and drug dependency
  • unresolved anxiety
  • stress-related issues
  • anger
  • trauma and dissociation
  • low self-worth and suicidal thoughts

When it is appropriate, I use hypnotherapy to help clients during our sessions. I have completed body psychotherapy training and mindfulness training. I specialise in relational psychotherapy and I also incorporate existential and psychodynamic approaches. This puts a focus on how we are connected with others. Its aim is to help clients achieve and maintain fulfilling and satisfying relationships with those around them. The strong, uplifting and secure relationship we can forge in therapy can serve as a model for future relationships that clients will aim to develop. I trained with the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) and I am a Registered Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I regularly attend continuing professional development workshops to add to my skills and expertise.

  • I have completed my training as a clinical supervisor with CSTD Bath.
  • I am a member of the Re-accreditation Committee of BCPC, overseeing the re-accreditation of BCPC-registered counsellors and psychotherapists.
  • I am chair of CaPPP – a networking organisation for counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice in the south west of England.
